Did you know Cleethorpes was once at the centre of the UK Oyster Trade? Renowned for ‘large & cheap’ oysters that were sold across the UK during the 1800’s. By the early 1900’s our oysters were in rapid decline due to pollution and over fishing resulting in the loss of native oyster populations in Cleethorpes and the Humber Estuary.
Join Our Big Picture for a fascinating insight of Cleethorpes oyster heritage with a walk out to the oyster beds in the Humber Estuary. Be prepared to wade through water, creeks and muddy patches led by expert guides.

Expect dancing, singing and rock’n’roll fun. Celebrate 20 years since 4 guys met in a pub in Holloway with 1 aim, to make some of the most infectious indie ska music ever made and they didn’t just make music; they made songs that are an uproarious celebration of life.

In 2007, The Holloways unleashed their mega-hit single “Generator” upon the world and suddenly, every speaker was blasting their catchy blend of ska-fused indie punk pop. When a DJ spins The Holloways, you can’t escape the feeling that a party has just exploded onto the airwaves.
“Generator” and “Two Left Feet” are more than songs; they’re anthems for the wild, carefree and eternally young. Crowds sing along to “Dancefloor” and “Happiness and Penniless” with fists as the band connects with every audience with such authenticity; because these songs are real…and these boys are real. Rave reviews for the live shows were followed by huge praise for the debut album, “So This Is Great Britain?”. The Holloways trajectory was cruelly deflected o^ course in 2008 when behind the scenes chaos with record labels put them in limbo for 18 months. Then, their Holloway home, Nambucca, burnt down along with all their gear. They kept on going however and unleashed their sophomore album, “No Smoke, No Mirrors” in 2009. It may have not skyrocketed them to the same heights as their debut; but it still connects with the fans today. So, here’s to The Holloways – the lads who get you dancing at any indie rock ‘n’ roll party. Cheers to the tunes that make us laugh, dance, and appreciate the joyful chaos of being young and alive!

What a weekend for our junior golfers at Normanby Hall Golf Course! On Sunday 21 September, our junior team lifted the Golf Sixes title at Holme Hall after a remarkable season of dedication, teamwork, and determination.
After narrowly finishing as runners up last year, the team set their sights on going one better, and they did exactly that! Despite a steady start with a 3rd and 2nd place finish in the opening fixtures, the juniors found their stride, winning an incredible seven rounds in a row to seal the club’s first ever Golf Sixes title. The trophy was clinched on home turf in the penultimate round, and the team finished in style with another win on the final day to extend their lead.
The celebrations said it all, smiles all around from players, parents, and coaches after a season full of unforgettable moments. A special mention goes to Edward and Cooper, who both graduate from the sixes squad this year, proudly holding the trophy as they look ahead to new challenges in their golfing journey.
Our assistant professional and junior coach, Chris is already preparing for the winter season to keep the momentum going, with year round opportunities for practice, play, and development.
We’re so proud of every player in the squad: Fin, Jesse, Edward, Cooper, Ryan, Arthur, Will, Fran, Jaxson, George, and Florrie, what a team effort!
