2025 PROGRAMME

SPENCER BOOTH

Spencer is becoming a big name in Grimsby and Cleethorpes, with uber impressive vocal talents and keys abilities to match! Opening the festival with his four piece band and a spot on mix of originals and covers drawing influences from Stevie Wonder, Jacob Collier, Daniel Ceaser, Thelonious Monk and more.

MIKOUDI

Mikoudi are an 8-piece ‘future soul’ and Jazz fusion band based in Leeds. The band combines pop melodies with jazz harmony, electronic ambient synth lines and danceable rhythms.

After releasing their debut single ‘Senza’ in December 2022, they have since received strong support from BBC Introducing West Yorkshire and continue performing frequently around Leeds and surrounding cities. Some of their most recent gigs include opening for Omar Lyefook at The Old Woolen, Myele Manzanza at Headrow House and playing Leeds and Manchester Jazz Festivals across May Bank Holiday weekend at Brudenell Social Club and Band On The Wall.

2023 was an exciting year for Mikoudi, with festival slots played at Wilderness Festival, We Out Here, Leeds, London and Manchester Jazz Festivals over the Summer.

They recently released a new single ‘In My Head’ following their sold out release show, and plan to release an EP later in the year.

TARA LILY

Named The Guardian’s ‘one to watch’ ’in 2022, South London, British-Bengali musician Tara Lily transgresses jazz, electronica, trip-hop and alternative R&B. Her debut album ‘Speak In The Dark’ is a record about “speaking your truth – things that go unsaid—secrets and desires”  and is in part inspired by Tara’s travels through Asia and her journey of reconnecting to her roots in India: “from the wild nightlife of Mumbai to the stillness of nature in Goa”.

The set will also showcase Tara’s electronic side, delving into the frenetic energy of drum and bass, with her song “Double Time” having been named as Radio 1’s ‘Track of the Week’.

Growing up in Peckham as part of a British Bengali family has given Tara Lily a unique perspective on music and global culture. She has spent her life absorbing a multitude of sounds and genres. She studied jazz piano and voice, while learning Indian classical music and it was this intriguing blend of sounds and her deep understanding of the worlds they come from which has caught the attention of Gilles Peterson, Iggy Pop, Jamie Cullum and Motown Records UK, who signed Tara as their first British artist. Tara has recently supported RAYE at the Royal Albert Hall and toured extensively around Asia (with a standout performance on the main stage at Sunsplash Goa). Last summer she trailed several UK festivals including Glastonbury, We Out Here and Wilderness.

AFRODESIA

Leeds based Afro-Jazz fusion band Afrodesia has played across many dance floors around the UK. Bringing fast paced rhythms, bursting melodies and rapid improvisation, Afrodesia channels the raw energy and beat from the motherland. Drawing upon influences from all across Africa such as Afrobeat, Highlife, Juju, Kwela, Kwasa kwasa and combining it with jazz. Afrodesia hopes to continue the legacy of the many African giants such as Fela Kuti, Hugh Masekela, Ebo Taylor and many more. No matter the place or time, the burning groove and hot energy of Afrodesia is sure to bring fire to the dance floor and make your feet tap and dance!

STEVEN BAMIDELE

Steven Bamidele is a London-based singer, songwriter, and producer. Born in Nigeria, he spent his formative years in Suffolk, before moving to Brighton and eventually London. With influences ranging from Marvin Gaye and Radiohead to Lianne La Havas and Solange, Steven crafts his own unique and intricate sound, creating ‘psychedelic forward-thinking soul’.

His debut album ‘Summing Up’ received support from Trevor Nelson and Jamie Cullum (BBC Radio 2), as well as New Music Fix (BBC 6Music) and Clash Magazine.

Under his former alias ‘Mirror Signal’, Steven was featured on ‘Brownswood Bubblers 11’, performed a live session for Gilles Peterson and was selected by Jamie Cullum and PRS Foundation to perform at Montreal Jazz Festival in 2016.

His stage presence and love of sharing his music live has continued to grow while playing extensively in London and Brighton, supporting the likes of Hot 8 Brass Band alongside making appearances at festivals such as Love Supreme, We Out Here, Reading & Leeds, Shambala and more.

We’re delighted to welcome Steve and his original creative sounds to Cleethorpes!

SAM REDMORE AND THE TROPICAL SOUNDCLASH

Producer and artist Sam Redmore is shaping a career as one of the UKs most exciting new talents. His path has seen him evolve from club DJ and promoter, to remixer responsible for a host of masterly edits, to lighting up stages from London to LA with killer live shows.

Sam’s knowledge of global, eclectic sounds – shaped when following the movements of the likes of Gilles Peterson, Quantic, Louie Vega and Mr Scruff – set up his 2022 debut album Universal Vibrations as a feast for those who wish to dance to a different beat.

Nagu, an instrumental track from his debut 7” release, was played on BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, Radio 2, Jazz FM and Worldwide FM on the same weekend.  A supremely rare cross cultural appeal and unheard of for an instrumental latin dancefloor tune.

When the album dropped in September 2022 it was immediately given the prestigious Album of the Week accolade at Jazz FM, rounding off an extremely successful campaign that included BBC 6 Music guest mixes for Craig Charles, Huey Morgan, Afrodeutsche and Cerys Matthews.

Sam’s follow-up LP Modulate, recently released in October 2024, has picked up strong national radio and Spotify support.

Modulate is music made with the dancefloor firmly in mind, combining electronic and programmed sounds with organic, live instrumentation.

Speaking about the process of creating Modulate, Sam tells us:

I pick up inspiration from many different kinds of music – from house, disco, broken beat and funk through to afro latin styles including afrobeat, cumbia, salsa and samba – and try to combine things to create something exciting and new.”
